New Delhi: While the final dates for the MCD elections scheduled in April are yet to be announced, the political battle is heating up in the capital. The BJP and the Congress are trying to leave behind each other in every area.

The Congress on Wednesday kicked off its campaigning for the civic polls from West Delhi, which is said to be the stronghold of BJP.

Strongly condemning the Karnataka porngate, state party unit campaigner Virendra Singh said, “Candidates having a clear image only will be given tickets.”

Without taking name of West Delhi Congress MP Mahabal Mishra, Singh further added that the sitting MPs will forward the names of candidates who will contest in the polls.

Sharing the dais, Delhi Congress chief JP Agarwal said, “Congress is the only party which doesn’t believe in doing rallies or yatras. Others are just doing ‘drama’ and playing with the sentiments of people.”

Taking a dig at BJP’s 15-day-long ‘Jan Sangharsh Rath Yatra’, Agarwal said, “BJP’s yatra is against them only.”
