New Delhi: Hailing the US move to announce bounty on the head of Hafiz Saeed, the chief of Pakistan based fundamental organization Jamaat-ud-Dawa, both the major political parties of the country- Congress and BJP- have expressed that all steps should be taken to ensure punishment for the perpetrators of the 26/11 Mumbai attack.

Welcoming the USD 10 million bounty announced by the US for 26/11 mastermind Hafiz Saeed, the Congress on Tuesday said it validates India's point of view that there cannot be any differentiation in fighting terrorism.

"The US move addresses another concern at a symbolic level...that there can no differentiation in fighting terrorism," Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari told reporters. India has been saying that "terrorism is a seamless network and there can be no distinction in its treatment by the US," he added.

Welcoming the fresh US move against the mastermind of the most audacious terror attack on India, 26/11 Mumbai attack, the main opposition party BJP called for a joint action by all the forces to flush out terrorism form Pakistan.

Speaking in New Delhi, BJP spokesperson Rajiv Pratap Rudy said, “BJP welcomes the bounty announced by US on Hafiz Saeed, the chief architect of 26/11 Mumbai attacks.”

Calling Pakistan as the hotbed of terrorism in the world, Rudy further added that enough evidences are available to prove the role of some Pakistan based people in acts of terror.

Rudy also echoed the issue of patronage being extended by the Pakistani regime to terrorist elements.

External Affair Minister S M Krishna also welcomed the US notification declaring the reward on the mastermind of 26/11 attack, Hafiz Mohammad Saeed, saying the move will send a strong message to the perpetrators of terrorism as it reflects the unity of the world community in the fight against terrorism.
