New Delhi: Congress on Sunday downplayed questions on moral responsibility of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna in the wake of the defeat of his son Saket in the prestigious Tehri Lok Sabha bypoll by a huge margin.

"Responsibility as also the credit are always collective," party spokesman Manish Tewari told reporters, adding had Saket won, the chief minister would not have been been given all the credit.

He said the defeat in Tehri and the slender win in Jangipur in West Bengal of President Pranab Mukherjee's son Abhijit were issues that needed an introspection.
