New Delhi: Eyeing on the assembly elections in the nine states and 2014 Lok Sabha polls, the Congress has started to focus on its own states. Despite several political challenges in Rajasthan, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot still enjoys support of party high command.

As far as Delhi is concerned, Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit put her own government at the Centre in dock by questioning the integrity of Police Commissioner Neeraj Gupta. CM’s son and East Delhi MP Sandeep Dikshit went to an extra mile by asking resignation of Police Commissioner. The entire episode put the Central government in awkward position.

Sources said that Delhi CM made her stand clear before the party high command. Meanwhile, the Congress kept distance from statements of Sheila and Sandeep Dikshit.

The party high command also reviewed the functioning of Ashok Gehlot government which has tried to improve law and order situation in the state.

Rajasthan is politically important state for the Congress. That’s why the party is going to hold Chintan Shibir’ in Jaipur from January 18-20.

However, anti-Gehlot camp is also strong in the state. CP Joshi is still enjoying backing of Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi.
