“Very disappointed with the Assembly Elections. But Congress has the resilience to bounce back and we shall,” he said on twitter.

Singh congratulated Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman and BJP’s chief ministerial candidate Vasundhra Raje for a thumping victory in the state assembly elections.

“Congratulations to Dr Raman Singh, Shivraj Chouhan and Vasundhra Scindhia. It is their victory. Don't allow someone else to take the credit,” he tweeted early on Monday morning.

The Congress leader also congratulated Aam Aadmi Part (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal, who defeated Sheila Dikshit from the New Delhi constituency by 25,864 votes.

“I congratulate Arvind Kejriwal who had the courage of getting into electoral politics and succeeding. Politics is not all that Bad!” he said.

“I would suggest to all those who sit and criticize politicians to come out and get into electoral politics and join party of their ideology,” he added.

He also congratulated his son Jaivardhan Singh on winning from the family seat of Raghogarh. “I am happy my son Jaivardhan Singh won by 58000 votes. It is his victory. He worked hard and with dedication. May God be with him!” he said.

The BJP has won a landslide victory in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh and retained power in Chhattisgarh in the assembly elections. Though Delhi has voted for a hung assembly, the BJP has emerged as the single largest party in assembly elections.
