Lohardaga: Bharatiya Janata Party Jharkhand affairs in-charge Harendra Pratap Singh held the Congress and Jharkhand Vikas Morcha responsible for the alleged horse trading in the elections for two Rajya Sabha seats from the state.

Singh demanded that CBI probe into all the RS polls conducted in the state since its bifurcation in November 2000 be initiated.

If any party is found to be involved in the alleged misuse of money during the Upper House polls, their party symbol should be cancelled said Singh.

“Despite being the largest party in the Jharkhand, the BJP did not field its candidate for the Upper House polls, while the Congress and the JVM fielded their candidates. Certainly, it is a subject of investigation,” opined the BJP leader.

“Both the Congress and the JVM were assured of their victory in the RS polls as the BJP decided not to take part in the voting. But the saffron party MLAs voted in favour of the JMM candidate in the last moment,” said the BJP leader.

The BJP move spoiled the equation of both the Congress and the JVM which approached the Election Commission added Singh.
