Aiyar courts controversy for his remark

New Delhi: Known for his bold and acidic comments that sometimes hit the headlines, bureaucrat-turned-Congress leader Manishankar Aiyar once again courted controversy as he made strong proposition that BJP MPs should be court-martialed for the entire session for disrupting the proceedings in both Houses of the Parliament over the Coalgate.

The proceedings in Parliament have come to a standstill after the CAG report calculated a presumptive loss of Rs 1.86 lakh crore in allocating coal blocks in the country.
Taking a pot shot at the BJP for sticking to the coal issue, the party lacked courage to discuss the issue in the Parliament.

Remarkably, Aiyar who has been in the news for a number of his bold statements earlier also courted controversy when he had said that the Congress party was like a circus team and everyone from the party wanted to be a part of it.

Before this  also, he grabbed the headlines when on the occasion of release of Rasheed Kidwai’s book ‘24 Akbar Road’ he had said that 10 Janpath and the residence of Ahmed Patel are more powerful than the party’s core committee (AICC).
