Gwalior: The dispute between district administration and Congress leaders protesting against land acquisition and lathi-charge in Shivpuri refuses to die down.

As a precautionary measure, the District Magistrate has initiated preparations to gather information about weapon licenses and lease of stone mines owned by the Congress leaders for cancellation. The DM has sought information from the state capital in this regard.

According to reports, the Congress leaders are chalking out a different strategy to counter the administration’s move under the guidance of Union Minister of State Jyotiraditya Scindia.

The movement started by Congress leaders against land acquisition in Madhya Pradesh seems to have turned worse. While the Congress leaders are staging a dharna in Shivpuri, District Magistrate John Kingsley has embarked upon a different game plan to curb the movement.

According to Congress leaders, the administration has strategized to cancel the lease of their stone mines and weapon licenses to discourage the protest.

However, the DM has said, “We are carrying out judicial action against those who harmed public property in the city and hence their weapon licenses are being cancelled. Since the Congress leaders have been a party in the crime, they are becoming restless.”
