Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee chief Arvinder Singh Lovely, former MP from West Delhi Mahabal Mishra and senior leader Mukesh Sharma along with scores of party workers staged protest in Delhi on Saturday.

Lambasting the BJP-led NDA government, Lovely accused the saffron party of taking a U-turn from the promises they made during their election campaign.

While taking a jibe at BJP’s famous pre-election slogan ‘Acche Din Aane Wale Hain’, Lovely said now that NDA is in power they have started advocating for ‘Kadvi Dawai’ (Bitter medicine).

“Before elections they (BJP) were saying 'acche din', as soon as they won, they started saying 'kadvi dawai',” Lovely said during the protest.

Large scale protests by rival parties against the hike in railway fares have already began.

Samajwadi Party (SP) candidates held protests in Allahabad on Saturday against the hike in railway fares.
