Bhopal: Congress MLA Kalpana Parulekar who was heading to Raj Bhawan on Tuesday along with her supporters to submit a memorandum against Industries Minister Kailash Vijaywargiya for his alleged role in the social security pension scam created a ruckus when she was stopped by the police at K N Pradhan square.

She was heading towards Raj Bhawan to submit a memorandum to Governor Ram Naresh Yadav for not granting permission to prosecute Vijaywargiya in the scam.

A Congress leader K K Mishra had filed a complaint to the state government and also to the governor about the issue in 2006 demanding permission to prosecute the minister for his alleged involvement in the pension scam that occurred when Vijaywargiya was the Mayor of Indore city.

However, since no action was taken in the matter, Parulekar and senior Congress leaders Mahesh Joshi and Mishra reached the Raj Bhawan to submit a memorandum.

When the police prevented Parulekar from moving ahead, she created a ruckus and demanded that the police arrest her, by then, Joshi and Mishra went to the Raj Bhawan and informed her over phone that the Governor had agreed to meet them, after which she calmed down.

Later, other Congress leaders submitted a memorandum to the Governor demanding immediate permission to prosecute the minister.

Joshi later told reporters outside the Raj Bhawan that the Governor has assured them of action in the matter.
