New Delhi: With Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi donning the role of protagonist of party campaign for Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, plans are afoot to intensify his movement to reach out to the masses in the state. Engulfed in several cases of corruption, the Congress aims to use Gandhi as party trump card for the UP 2012 poll campaign.

An elaborate poll campaign plan has been chalked out for Gandhi from November 2011 to January 2012. Five public interaction rallies scheduled for November and December will cover over three dozen districts of UP. In addition, the Gandhi scion will also address 15 major rallies in January.

The public interaction rallies would be similar to road show where Gandhi will meet locals. In a two-day meeting, the Congress Election Campaign Committee chaired by Union Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal has chalked out five routes for the rally.

First route will be from Faizabad to Sonbhadra which will include Sultanpur, Pratapgarh, Badalpur, Jaunpur, Sant Ravidas Nagar and Mirzapur. Second route includes-  Kanpur, Kalpi, Jalaun, Jhansi and Hamirpur. Third route will cover - Lucknow, Barabanki, Gonda, Dumariyaganj, Basti, Devariya and Kushinagar. Fourth route which is the longest will be from Bijnaur to Hardoi. It will include Bareiley , Rampur, Badaon and Shahjahanpur. Fifth Route has been decided for Saharanpur, Muzzafarnagar, Ghaziabad, Bulandshahr, Aligarh and Agra.

The road routes will be given final shape by party stalwart Digvijay Singh and Rahul Gandhi.

Moreover, in January 2012 there are plans to organize 15 big rallies for Rahul in UP. For this the committee has selected 15 districts like Eta, Mainpuri, Bulandshahr, Akbarpur, Agra, Gorakhpur and others.
