New Delhi: The Congress high command has entrusted Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikhsit with the task of campaigning to ensure victory of party candidates in the MCD elections scheduled for April 15. The party has expressed its faith in Dikhsit for helping the party to emerge victorious.

For preparing the Congress manifesto for the municipal elections, the party high command had appointed a team under the aegis of West Delhi MP Mahabal Mishra but later handed over the responsibility to Dikshit.

The credit for the trifurcation of the MCD and providing 50 percent reservation for women in the municipal poll go to Diskshit. Considering the achievements, the party is banking upon Sheila Dikshit’s political clout to grab maximum seats in urban local body polls. The Congress is striving hard to return to power in the MCD.
According to sources, the Delhi Chief Minister will frame the strategies for the elections and the directives issued by her will be implemented accordingly. A team has already started to work in this direction.

Sources say, the Congress will present the accomplishments made by the Sheila Dikshit-led Delhi government to woo the voters of 272 wards ahead of MCD elections on April 15.
