Speaking to reporters, here, AICC General Secretary and former MP V Narayanasamy alleged the government was facing serious financial crisis. There were also instances of more than 5500 workers in government undertakings and in some departments remaining unpaid.
He said Congress would hold a rally here tomorrow to bring to focus the 'failure' of the government and unhelpful attitude of the BJP headed NDA government at the Centre for development of Puducherry`.
Narayanasamy said the AINRC government came to power in the 2011 assembly polls after 'false' promises to the people, with Chief Minister and AINRC founder Rangasamy assuring them that if BJP formed government at the Centre, there would be flow of more funds and intensive infrastructure development.
However nothing had happened and the government was also not mobilising revenue on its part from various sources.
He said PSUs like PASIC, PAPSCO, Cooperative Sugar mills and also a few other undertakings were facing financial problems and workers there were keeping their fingers crossed on getting their salaries.
He alleged that funds available with the famous shrine of Lord Saneeswarar in Tirunallar in Karaikal were being used by the government for routine expenditure.
He also charged the Central government with letting down Puducherry and that there was no no proper representation of the fiscal requirements from the Puducherry government.
Leader of the opposition V Vaithilingam and PCC president A V Subramanian were among those present.
