New Delhi: Congress is gearing up for the West Bengal assembly elections and straining every nerve to counter the Left in the forthcoming polls. For this purpose, Congress has put in place a core committee to look after the party’s strategy in the upcoming elections.

Party Secretary General Janardhan Dwivedi said that the committee has been received a green signal from party president Sonia Gandhi. He added, “The party will be spearheaded by Dr. Maya Ghosh, while Prof. Omprakash Mishra has been appointed as its manager.”

Wasting no time, the committee has quickly got down to serious work and nominated 48 members for the elections. Pradeep Bhattacharya, Debi Ghoshal, Mohammad Sohrab, Khan Chaudhary, Abdul Munnan Hussain, Saurabh Chokrovarthy, Kavita Rehman being the prominent ones who have made it to the final list.
