Lucknow: The Congress on Friday lashed out at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati for ignoring Lokayukta recommendation of CBI inquiry against senior minister Naseemuddin Siddiqui and demanded a similar inquiry against her brother Anand Kumar.

"Mayawati has neither recommended the inquiry as suggested by the Lokayukta nor dismissed him from the ministry and it only indicates her own involvement in corruption", chief spokesman Ram Kumar Bhargava said.

Terming Naseemuddin and Mayawati's one-time confidant, dismissed BSP leader Babu Singh Kushwaha as closest "fund collectors", Bhargawa said that with both of them found guilty, it was required that the main "fund collection centre" (Mayawati) should also be probed.

The Congress spokesman said that as per his information, Mayawati is contemplating setting up a judicial probe on the issue of Nassemuddin Siddiqui so that the next government cannot take any action against him and she can save herself from the hands of law.

Citing examples, Bhargava said that main operative of corruption during the BSP government had been Mayawati's brother Anand Kumar who was allotted a plot in Noida on priority basis during the first stint of Mayawati as the Chief Minister showing him as a carpenter.

"There are reports that this common carpenter amassed properties worth thousands of crores of rupees in just a matter of few years and this issue required a through probe", Bhargawa said adding that reportedly there are about 15 small and big companies in the names of Anand Kumar, his wife and other family members in Noida alone.

Bhargava demanded that to bring out the facts, CBI and enforcement directorate should probe Anand Kumar's assets and companies.
