Aligarh: After getting permission for holding Mahapanchayat in Uttar Pradesh, the Congress on Sunday again launched an attack on the Mayawati government.

State Congress President Rita Bahuguna Joshi slammed the UP Chief Minister for denying permission to organise the farmers' conclave in Bhatta-Parsaul in Greater Noida as was originally proposed.

The state Congress President also lashed out at the BSP supremo for cheating the farmers in the name of land acquisitions.

She elaborated that all the complaints and recommendations of farmers regarding land acquisitions will be sent to the Prime Minister so that the Land Acquisition Bill can be tabled in the monsoon session.

Divulging the details of Rahul’s visit, she informed that on July 9 Gandhi scion will visit the farmers between 10 am-2pm and discuss their problems.

Joshi was in Aligarh to inspect the Numaish ground ahead of Rahul Gandhi’s visit in the city.
