Gwalior: Training their gun on the Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Gwalior Mayor Samiksha Gupta, the Congress members blamed her for flouting the rule and regulation in the various projects of the urban body.

Former Opposition leader and councilor Devendra Singh Tomar said, “Gupta and Mayor-in-Council (MIC) have been violating the Corporation Act. They did not bother to convene Corporation’s general body meeting for the last two years.”

Accusing the Mayor of neglecting the economically weaker section of the society, the Congress leader said, “The construction site of houses for EWS has been changed under the Mayor’s influence as they were to be built near her personal residence.”

The Mayor is entitled to avail the service of one car whereas five departmental vehicles are at his disposal for which an amount of Rs 2 lakh is wasted per month, he added. The five vehicles have been allotted to 10 member of MIC but they receive cash instead of using it.

Refuting the charge of the Opposition leader, the Mayor said, “I am availing the service of one vehicle which has been entitled to me.”
