“JD-U says serving tea is fine but poisonous tea is unacceptable.  After sipping poison for 17 yr they still claim themselves secularly healthy,” Congress leader Shakeel Ahmad said on microblogging site Twitter.

The remarks came a day after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar ruled out the Janata Dal-United’s alliance with the Congress for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

“There is no question of an alliance of JD-U with the Congress in Bihar for the Lok Sabha polls," he said on Monday.

Nitish said media speculations over possibility of an alliance between the JD-U and Congress are baseless.

“It is a non-existent thing,” he added.

JD-U leader K C Tyagi had earlier on Sunday said that a ‘poisonous tea selling’ person should not become a Prime Minister and Modi had sold such a tea through Gujarat.
