New Delhi: Congress scion Rahul Gandhi’s remark on Bharatiya Janata Party firebrand Uma Bharti’s arrival in Uttar Pradesh for election politics is now being linked to the Congress’ victory.

The Congress has alleged that the reply of the BJP leader is the result of her restlessness because all opposition parties are threatened by the expected victory of the Congress in the Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Uttarakhand.

Talking to the reporters on Friday, Congress spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi said, “Though Congress is on the path of victory in UP, Punjab and Uttarakhand, the cheap reply of BJP leader Uma Bharti in response to Rahul Gandhi’s remark was not called for”.

Singhvi added, “Such statements are result of the restlessness of the parties afraid of the positive results produced by Rahul’s UP visits.”

On the other hand, Uma Bharti said, “I would bless Rahul to acquire more knowledge as I have visited each and every village of Bundelkhand.”

At the mention of Uttarakhand, Singhvi added, “Though the BJP has changed the chief minister but the people have not yet forgotten the rampant corruption carried out under the previous leader.”

On Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s fast, Singhvi commented, “Is he sitting on fast to repent on the human massacre in the state? But until the reason of his repent is known, nothing can be said. This is just his means to draw ugly political gains.”
