Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Congress president Kantilal Bhuria has declared that the party would launch a movement from June 1 against the irregularities committed in the procurement of wheat from farmers, power supply and hike in power rates in the state.

“Despite the promises made in the election manifesto, the state government is unable to provide power supply to the farmers.  The government has coupled problems of farmers by raising power rates in the state,” Bhuria said while speaking to media on Monday.

“Farmers are a worried lot in the state as their produce is not being procured in the mandi at the basic support price,” added Bhuria.


Congress has decided to launch protest in every district of the state from June 1.

In the Jabera by-election, the opposition has decided to make the breach the trust of farmers  by the state government a poll issue.
