Ghaziabad: Irrespective of the fact whether Congress leader Sonia Gandhi shed tears on the Batla house encounter case or not, UP assembly poll results will make party leaders weep, BJP spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said.

"Digvijay Singh says that Sonia Gandhi did not shed tears on the Batla house issue, while other party members say that she wept over it, but certainly the Congress leaders will weep after the declarations of poll results," BJP vice president and Uttar Pradesh election campaign committee chairman Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said.

He said, “The turnout of voters in the last two phases of elections clearly is going in favour of the BJP.”

Naqvi said, “The contradictory statements issued by the Congress leaders on the Batla issue clearly hints at their desperation of winning the elections which in turn is tarnishing the image of their party.”

Both the UPA and the Mayawati governments fear that BJP will form the next government with full majority, he claimed.

Clearing his party stand on the Ram Temple issue, he said, “BJP will not politicise the issue.”

Naqvi further said that Ghaziabad will be the war room for the BJP for February 28 election in western UP, and he will personally look after the election management.
