"The rollback announced on Tuesday is only partial. We demand a full rollback. ‘Rail roko’ stir was successful in places like Thane, Navi Mumbai, Wardha and Akola," Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson Sachin Sawant said.

The Congress activists held demonstrations in various parts of the state, excluding Mumbai, protesting the recent hike in railway passenger fares and freight rates announced by the Centre.
"We decided to exclude Mumbai, where the 'rail roko' demonstrations were slated from 11 am to 12 noon, to avoid inconvenience to suburban commuters," Sawant added.
In a partial rollback, the Indian Railways on Tuesday announced that the recent hike of 14.2 percent in passenger fares will not apply to second class suburban journey up to 80 kms.
