Vardhman: Dismissing the Left government's claim to continue its winning spree in the assembly polls, Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday exuded confidence that Congress-Trinamool alliance will form the next government in West Bengal by registering win on more than 200 seats.

Addressing an election rally in Guskara, Pranab also lashed out at the ruling Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) for failing to carry out developmental works in the states. “Thousands of crores of rupees have been given to the state for development and progress, but no result has been seen anywhere,” he said.

Expressing confidence in the Congress-Trinamool alliance, Pranab said if voted to power it will improve the work culture in the state which has touched a new low under the Left regime.
He reiterated that the Congress-Trinamool alliance led by Mamata Banerjee is determined to free the state from the "misrule" of Left.
