Coimbatore: The 12th edition of 'Connect Coimbatore,' a flagship event of CII, initiated exclusively for the growth of Information and Communication Technology sector in the city, will be held here on February 24.

The event, attracting entrepreneurs from across India, has been continuously focusing on use of technology to increase efficiency of the companies and also new opportunities coming up for IT companies, Ashok Bhakthavatsalam, vice-chairman, CII Coimbatore Zone, said in a press release here on Monday.

Stating that IT software exports from Coimbatore was close to Rs 150 crore, he said the vision of Coimbatore to become a major IT destination, has started becoming a reality with some big companies in the sector bringing the city under their expansion map and existing companies expanding at a fast pace.

Supported by ELCOT (Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu) and STPI (Software Technology Parks India), the conference will focus on Enterprise Resourcs Planning for small and medium business, Emerging Opportunities, IT for SMB's and Information Security

More than 15 eminent speakers from various IT companies and 20 companies would display their areas of work during an exhibition coinciding with the conference.
