Patna: Contraband charas worth several crores were seized by the police from several places in the state capital being smuggled to European countries, Director General (operation), Amit Kumar said.

Acting on a tip-off, personnel of the Special Task Team of Bihar police raided the places and recovered 20 to 25 kg of charas.

The value of the seized charas was estimated to be several crores in the international market, Kumar said.

Four persons identified as Sujit Kumar, said to be a railway employee, Avinash Kumar, Surender Paswan and Manoj Sharma were arrested in this connection, Kumar said.

They were alleged to be involved in smuggling the contraband through courier to European countries, he said.
