New Delhi: Controversy has greeted Baba Ramdev on the first day of his agitation at the Ramlila Ground. Acharya Balkrishna, a close aide of Ramdev, has been depicted in a poster alongside greats like Bhagat Singh and Subhash Chandra Bose that sparked off row. The poster is all praise for Balakrishna and showcases him as the messiah of diseased people. However, after much hue and cry the posters have been removed.

Baba Ramdev reached the Ramlila Ground at 9.45 am on Thursday and greeted his supporters. Prior to starting his agitation, Ramdev visited Rajghat and paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi.

Remarkably, he has moved to Ramlila Ground once again nearly after 14 months he started his agitation from this very place. Asked whether Team Anna would also participate in the stir, he said that it is up to him only. He, however, did not forget to mention that Anna had already promised to lend him support.

He categorically denied having personal enmity with anyone and said that he is rather trying to raise his voice against the erroneous policies of the government. The country would move ahead on the path of development only after the UPA government brings back black money stashed in foreign banks and puts the corrupt leaders and officials behind the bars, he added.

He said that farmers are committing suicide in the country due to the wrong policies of the government and rampant corruption prevalent in the country. He lamented over the fact that the government is silent over these issues.

Crowds began to swell at the Ramlila Ground since early Thursday morning. Interestingly other than holding agitation, yoga classes will also be imparted to the people in the camp. This may draw huge crowds as people interested in yoga may also join the camp.

As per his aides, Sarpanches from two lakh villages spread across the country have lent their support to the agitation in writing while a number of them have already left for Delhi.

They said that the agitation would be kicked-off simultaneously in six hundred districts and four thousand tehsils spread over the country. On this occasion, candle marches would also be taken out.

Also there are reports of his supporters reaching Ramlila Maidan from remote areas on bicycles as well as on foot.

Three companies of Delhi police are camping on the ground in-order to maintain law and order situation. 60 CCTV cameras have also been placed at the venue. There are reports of more than one lakh people attending the camp.

On the other hand, a 7-member delegation of refugees from Western Pakistan which is fighting for a permanent citizenship of India left for Delhi from Jammu and would share its plights with yoga guru.
