The VHP women wing 'Durga Vahini', has launched a campaign to reconvert Hindu women married to Muslim men. A VHP office bearer said Ghar Wapsi campaign must also include 'love jihad'.

However, the social media has not taken VHP's action in good taste and condemned it. Tweets are being poured in on social media platform to defend the actress.
"VHP women wing's magazine projects Kareena Kapoor in cover as victim of LOVE jihad. Gauri Khan must be wondering why not she on cover.)," a tweet said.

"Another #Rubbish from the people of #LoveJihaad involving actress #KareenaKapoor in Magazine article," another tweet added.

While Rajni Thukral, Durga Vahini's northern India regional coordinator says  choosing Kareena Kapoor's face for the magazine is a right decision. "She is a celebrity. The youths try to emulate celebrities. They think if she can do so, why not us?" she added.

Kareena Kapoor Khan's husband and Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan described the act as ridiculous and not surprising. Talking to a leading daily on the issue, Khan said, "It's ridiculous and not surprising... but these uneducated and bigoted ideas are the worst of India and condemning them is important."

VHP's Prakash Sharma said, "If actress Kareena Kapoor has a problem with this, the door of court is open for her."
