New Delhi: With only few days left for the notification to be issued for Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections, the Urban Local Body Councillors have girded their loins to hog the limelight for the development work done in their respective wards.

Interestingly, the areas where construction work has been completed a month before, the Councillors have once again installed board claiming the ongoing work. More so, the local body Councillors have even started taking credit for the project work that requires at least two to three years for completion.

As expected, the notification for MCD elections will be issued in the second week of January. Therefore, series of opening ceremonies and laying of foundation stones have commenced in the national capital.

It can be gauged from the fact that after much pomp in Bhoomi Pujan for construction of multi-level car parking in Subash Nagar a few ago, Councillor  Subash Arya gain laid foundation  for the work on Sunday.

“The work order for the construction of parking area has been completed now, therefore it is practical to hold ceremony for it,” said Subash.

On a similar note, the foundation for the multi-level parking work in New Friends Colony of South Delhi will again be laid on December 25.
