New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has allowed Vikas Yadav, who is serving the life term in Tihar Jail in connection with the Nitish Katara murder case, to attend for two hours in his brother’s engagement.

A bench comprising Justice BP Ahmad and Manmohan Singh has pronounced the orders.

The court has directed the Delhi police to escort Vikas, the son of ex-MP, DP Yadav, to attend his brother’s engagement to be held in the hotel Hayat Regency on April 14.

Vikas murdered his sister’s friend, Nitish Katara, in February 2002 and is serving a life term in jail. A petition filed on behest of Vikas Yadav in which he had sought bail for three months to attend his brother’s marriage ceremony.
