Panchkula: Despite presence of the concerned parties in the courtroom, a Panchkula court on Wednesday deferred the hearing in February 18, 2007 Samjhauta blast case to February 22.  The main accused Swami Aseemanand and Lokesh Sharma were both present in the court.

National Investigation Agency (NIA), which has been probing the case, had recently submitted the chargesheet which is due for hearing.

According to the sources, the court will frame charges against Aseemanand and Lokesh on February 22.

The NIA on June 20 had charged Aseemanand, Lokesh Sharma, Sunil Joshi (now dead), Sandeep Dange and Ramchandra Kalasangra alias Ramji for triggering explosions in the Samjhauta Express near Diwana station in Panipat on February 17, 2007 midnight, that left 68 people dead.

According to sources, NIA has enough evidences against Aseemanand and thus, it wanted to interrogate him once again.

Aseemanand is also an accused in Hyderabad's Mecca Masjid blast case.

Earlier, the CBI on November 19 had arrested 59-year-old Swami from Haridwar for his alleged involvement in May 18, 2007 Hyderabad's Mecca Masjid blast case which had claimed 9 lives.
