Muzaffarpur (Bihar): A local court on Friday issued arrest  warrants against former mayor of Muzaffarpur Muncipal Corporation and former municipal commissioner for not appearing in the court in a four-year old case.

First Class Judicial Magistrate Ranjula Bhartia issued arrest warrants against four persons, including the former mayor and commissioner.

An advocate Sudhir Ojha had filed a case on December 2007 against the four alleging that he was manhandled after he approached them against filth in a drain near the civil court.

The court had taken cognisance of the complaint in 2009. Despite several reminders, the accused did not appear in court. The four were former mayor of Muzaffarpur Municipal Corporation Vimla Tulsiyan, former commissioner Harihar Prasad Singh and additional municipal commissioners, Kaushal Kishore and Vishwamohan Mishra.
