Aurangabad: Rejecting the bail plea of former Co-Operative minister of Bihar Ramadhar Singh, a local court sent him to a 14-day judicial custody. Following which the four time legislator from Aurangabad will now move his bail petition in the court of District Judge.

Earlier in the day, the Bihar legislator surrendered in the court and moved his bail petition. After hearing arguments from both the sides, the court turned down his bail petition. Judicial Magistrate First Class, Ashutosh Khetan said since the legislator was absconding for a long period, a bail could not be granted to him.

Advocate Yogendra Narayan Singh defending the former minister maintained that his client was on bail from a Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court in the case which declared him absconder.

Assistant Prosecution Officer (APO) Nagendra Kumar Roy told the court that the MLA was charged for making an inflammatory speech against the minority community and disregarding the court order, therefore he should not be granted bail.”
