New Delhi: The Communist Party of India, which is struggling for its revival, organized its 21st national conference at Patna. The left party lashed out at the economic policies of the Centre. Once Bihar was known as the CPI’s main political ground where the left party had won 26 assembly seats in 1990 but drastically reduced to just one seat in 2010 assembly polls.

Commenting during the 21st national level conference of the CPI, state council member and lone party MLA Awadhesh Kumar Rai spoke to Jagran Post over phone, “The CPI has decided to oppose the Central Government’s economic policies.” Criticizing the Central Government Rai said, “The government at the centre is the puppet of the USA.”

When contacted over the issue, former Ballia MP, national council member and Bihar Secondary Teachers Union president Shatrughan Singh said, “The people of the country are in trouble due to the skyrocketing prices of the essential commodities which has been caused by the wrong economic policies of the Central Government.”

In the national conference, the party has decided to launch protest against the Centre over several issues including price rise, added the former MP. The Bihar Secondary Teachers Union president asked their party workers to start preparation for 2014.
Sahebpur Kamal Block Pramukh, Manoj Kumar said, “The country will not develop unless it opts for socialism fundamental in its economy.”
