Patna: CPI(ML) on Thursday demanded immediate dismissal of district magistrate and police superintendent of Bihar's Aurangabad district for alleged barbaric action by police against peaceful agitators demanding arrest of those involved in the killing of a village head last month.

Senior CPI(ML) leaders KD Yadav and Mahanand described the police action on demonstrators as unprovoked and unwarranted and alleged that police resorted to barbaric act against them.

They alleged that police also assaulted its senior leader Raja Ram Singh during the agitation.

They called for immediate dismissal of the district magistrate and the superintendent of police of the district.

Police had on Wednesday resorted to batton charge and lobbed tear gas shells after a mob turned violent indulging in heavy stone throwing and burning of government vehicles to demand arrest of the killers during demonstration in front of Aurangabad district collectorate.
