New Delhi: With an intention to put more pressure on the Centre to pass the Jan Lokpal Bill in the Parliament, Team Anna met the CPI (M) leaders seeking their support in for unity of Opposition.

The CPM, however, expressed its reservation on bringing lower bureaucracy and the CBI under the ambit of the Lokpal.
It may be noted here that when Parliamentary Standing Committee has started giving final touches to the Lokpal Bill, the Team Anna too has increased its activity on this front.

After meeting the BJP leaders a few days back, the Team Anna members Arvind Kejriwal, Prashant Bhushan and Kiran Bedi met CPI (M) leader on the Parliament premises to discuss the Lokpal Bill and press for their views to be incorporated in the draft legislation.

The CPI (M) leader, Sitaram Yechury, later said, “Team Anna members had come to meet us and we had serious and fruitful discussion on the Lokpal Bill. The CPI (M) has been demanding that a strong and effective Lokpal is required to eliminate the curse of corruption."

Meanwhile, Team Anna member, Prashant Bhushan said, “We are meeting all the political parties to explain our stand on Lokpal. The Standing Committee has been saying that CBI, Prime Minister, Judiciary, lower bureaucracy and grievance redressal cell should be kept out of the Lokpal. This is not good... If you want a strong Lokpal then everybody from PM to peon should be included."
