As per the agreement, the parties were supposed to contest the Lok Sabha elections together. The Chief Minister’s post was given to JMM on condition that it would leave majority of Lok Sabha seats for the Congress. Looking at the momentary benefits, JMM agreed to it, but now is getting pesky over it.

Former state Congress president Thomas Hansda’s son Vijay Hansda decision to change sides is a part of this political development. Vijay wants to contest from Raj Mahal seat which has gone to JMM. There is panic in the Congress with Vijay’s decision.

Jharkhand Youth Congress president Anup Singh even demanded that the party should end its coalition with JMM in the state. State Congress leaders are of the view that the party should take a final call on the selection of candidates along with RJD.

This point will also be raised before Congress general secretary in-charge of Jharkhand BK Hariprasad. Jharkhand Congress chief Sukhdev Bhagat, who had objected to this earlier, has accused the JMM of cheating. Vijay Hansda, who has now joined the JMM, is also the in-charge of Youth Congress in Raj Mahal Lok Sabha constituency.
Youth Congress has even issued a warning that the JMM should avoid giving ticket to Vijay from Raj Mahal constituency. If it does not happen, it will appear that the JMM is not following the coalition dharma. It may even affect the coordination in other seats as well. Youth Congress may even hesitate to back the JMM on this seat. It is almost clear that Vijay will contest from Raj Mahal Lok Sabha constituency on JMM ticket.
