New Delhi, (Agencies): The decision to have an anti-doping law would ensure that cricketers, who have so far been given exemption by the ICC, would have to undergo dope tests, Sports minister Ajay Maken said recently.

"It's one of the reasons behind bringing in the anti-doping laws," Maken said.

Maken also suggested that the ministry had a discussion with BCCI officials to have the board come under the ambit of the proposed National Sports Development Legislation once it's passed in the parliament.

"If BCCI wants to avail this benefit, they can adopt it. We would like to have them. We had a discussion with them on Tuesday" he told reporters on Tuesday.
