New Delhi: Leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will meet at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) veteran leader Lal Krishna Advani's residence in the national capital on Tuesday to discuss the Vice-Presidential poll slated for August 7.

As per sources, the meeting will be held at the residence of 84-year-old BJP veteran LK Advani here and will be attended by all top leaders of the alliance.

During the meeting, the leaders will discuss the wining prospects of NDA nominee Jaswant Singh over UPA candidate Mohd Hamid Ansari for the country’s second top constitutional post.

The meeting will be crucial especially in the light of the recent results of Presidential poll, where UPA nominee Pranab Mukherjee with the impressive 70 percent lead over PA Sangma (backed by BJP and several other alliance parties), won the race to country’s first citizen.

The Vice-President is elected through a direct ballot with Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha members (including nominated) comprising the electoral college.

A total of 790 MPs are eligible to cast their vote on August 7 to elect the 14th Vice President.
