Kolkata: The Birbhum police in their special drive have recovered one thousand crude bombs from the house of one Communist Party of India (Marxist) supporter in Pilkhundi area on Tuesday.

The police raided the CPM supporter’s house after receiving secret information in this connection. The person is yet to be arrested.

According to the police, the crude bombs were buried under the earth in the kitchen of that house which was kept locked for almost a month. The police have launched the investigation to find out if the bombs were meant to execute any explosion.

It may be noted that Birbhum have been witnessing violent conflicts between the CPM and the Trinamool supporters over establishing their dominance in Nanoor region of the district.

The police, however, are apprehensive of some violence in the area before Diwali.
