New Delhi: Crude oil futures declined by 0.14 percent to Rs 5,116 per barrel on Monday in line with a weak trend in Asian trade.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in January shed Rs 7, or 0.14 percent, to Rs 5,116 per barrel, with a business volume of 7,138 lots.

The oil for February delivery moved down by a similar margin to Rs 5,159 per barrel, with a business volume of 847 lots.

Marketmen said the fall in crude oil futures prices was mostly in line with a weakening trend in Asia as weak energy demand and concerns over more fiscal battles in Washington tempered news of a modest growth in the US jobs market.

Meanwhile, crude oil for delivery in February was down 2 cents, to USD 93.07 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
