Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir High Court on Monday refused to conduct a judicial inquiry into the custodial death of the NC worker.

According to sources, Chief Justice SM Ibrahim Kalifullah has informed the state government that it is not going to appoint any High Court justice for the judicial inquiry.

He argued that as per the instructions of the Supreme Court, only the Apex Court or the President has the authority to appoint a judge of HC for conducting investigation.

In this regard, the Commissioner in home department, BR Sharma said, “As of yet we haven’t received any order from the Chief Justice.”
