New Delhi: Facing allegations of wasteful expenditure during Commonwealth Games (CWG), Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit might face serious trouble soon after the Comptroller Auditor General (CAG) report will be tabled in the Parliament on Friday.

The CBI could lodge fresh FIRs after the CAG submits its report in the Parliament.

The CAG, in its audit report, has highlighted the wasteful expenditure and arbitrary awarding of contract by the Delhi government while preparing to conduct the Commonwealth Games.

The CBI, which is investigating CWG scam, is waiting for the CAG reports.

One of the senior CBI officials said that fresh cases will be registered only after CAG reports are revealed officially. He also cleared that agency will investigate those projects which will hint towards irregularities.

As per the provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act, bungling of public fund is considered a crime. In such a situation, the concerned authorities face legal charges.

According to the sources in CAG office, Delhi government’s involvement in scams related to the CWG is mentioned in the report.
