New Delhi: Dream of Commonwealth Games Village flat buyers who have waited for more than 16 months to move into their homes is going to be realised very soon. Following the High Court order, Builder Emaar-MGF has made rest of the payment to the DDA.

According to the Authority sources, power of attorney will be issued in a day or two.

Justice Heema Kohli on Monday had given orders to the DDA to issue power of attorney to the buyers desiring to buy flats from Emaar-MGF after paying the dues.

Emaar-MGF was asked by the court to make a payment of Rs 16.19 crore. However, the company had to pay Rs 19.7 crore after DDA jacked up the price.

Situated beside the Akshardham Temple in east Delhi, the Games Village has 1, 168 flats in 34 towers in its vicinity out of which 457 flats have been already sold by the builder company.

However, possession letters have not been issued to the buyers because DDA sealed the flats after increasing floor area ratio (FAR) as per norms. After that, the CWG Allottees Welfare Association which represents the flat owners had approached the high court against it.
