New Delhi: After watching the mesmerizing sports events in the world class stadia and swimming pools during the Commonwealth Games-2010, now even the people will have an opportunity to avail these facilities. Plans are afoot to open the doors of the stadia and swimming pools constructed at the Games Village to people on a ‘Pay and Play’ basis.

According to DDA officials, there will no membership hassles and people could pay at the particular stadium in order to try a hand at their desired game. The sports facilities will be arranged separately at different stadia for which tender bids have been invited.

Apart from gyms and grounds, other facilities will also be provided to the public, claim officials.

Space has also been earmarked for a cricket ground and an indoor badminton court will also be constructed. The extensive plan also includes the setting of an Aerobics centre, yoga centre and table tennis table.

The initial plan was to provide the stadia only to players who had represented India in CWG 2010, however the plan was later altered.
