New Delhi: Although stringent action has been initiated against Suresh Kalmadi and his team in the alleged CWG 2010 scam, few unidentified people continue to threaten a female official of Organizing Committee (OC) who had extended cooperation to the investigating agencies.

After the scam emerged on the surface Chief Vigilance Officer of the OC, Gurjot Kaur had been in contact with the officials of Central Vigilance Commission and Enforcement Directorate (ED). Kaur recently received threats from people termed as closest aides of the accused ones in the case.

Concerned over the gravity of these threats, OC CEO Jarnail Singh wrote a letter to Delhi Police Commissioner on June 16 and demanded a security cover for Kaur. Though Singh has not given details of the threat but has indicated that the warnings were issued by close associates by people arrested in the case.

Kaur is an Indian Defence Accounts Service officer of 1985 batch. According to Singh, Kaur was monitoring all the sensitive and controversial documents related to the CWG scam.

He added all files stored on Kaur’s computer had been deleted by someone. These files had the details of progressive communication between OC Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), Sports Ministry and other investigative agencies.

Singh apprehended that someone who has tampered the data has tried to know the details of the communication with the CVC and ED team.
