New Delhi: Former Commonwealth Games Organising Committee Chairman Suresh Kalmadi's close aide Shekhar Deorukhkar on Wednesday filed a petition in High Court seeking withdrawal of his bail petition. The court in reply has dismissed his petition.

Deorukhkar was arrested with OC chief for his alleged role in a corruption case relating to the CWG.

In the bail petition, Deorukhkar had stated that he was arrested from Pune on February 11.

According to reports, no evidence was found against him. “There was no record of his involvement in any kind of contracts, nor was he officially authorised for any construction activities,” reports said.

Deorukhkar has been accused of giving bribe and playing the role of a mediator between Kalmadi and the other companies in the CWG scam.
