However after the actress’s open letter came into the light where she mentioned, “A character may demand that I be clothed from head to toe or be completely naked, and it will be my choice as an actor whether or not I take either. Understand that this is a ROLE and not REAL, and it is my job to portray whatever character I choose to play convincingly,” the leading daily has come up with another story ‘Dear Deepika, our point of view....’

The newspaper defending their part said that it accepts the actress’s ‘reel vs real argument’ but what about times when the actress flaunts her body in real life events. The daily termed Deepika hypocritical and the hinted that the controversy has brought the actress an advantage as she got immense publicity at the time of her movie’s release.

The newspaper defended their post by stating that why did the actress created such hype for the video which is present on the online platform for more than one year. The daily also mentioned that a cleavage symbolizes a sexy body and is sported like the eight pack abs of an actor. They also mentioned that they are not obliged to check with the actress to which of her pictures they will publish.

The newspaper also defended their headline saying that they agree it could have been better but the story was on online platform and not on newspaper.

The tussle between Deepika and the leading daily started when the actress slammed the newspaper for posting a controversial video of her on their online platform. The actress had then tweeted "Yes! I am a woman. I have breasts and a cleavage! You got a problem?”

Deepika’s tweet got immense support from all corners on social media and was taken as a courageous act of retorting on an issue which is less spoken of.
