Gurgaon: The reticent posture of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh seem has been jigsaw puzzle for people across the country and there have been much talks over his reserved nature, but now speculation will end as his daughter Daman, a writer by profession, wants to portray him in a different shade. 

The Prime Minister being introvert, as she narrates, does not like to make unnecessary and insignificant comments.

Talking to Dainik Jagran about her literary project based on father Manmohan Singh and mother Gursharan Kaur, Daman said her upcoming book will throw light on various aspects of PM’s life.

In view of penning down every minute detail of her parents, Daman has been in constant touch with close relatives and others.

The upcoming book seeks to unleash to the world the opinion Dr Singh holds on various global issues.

Interestingly, Daman wanted to be a journalist but could not join the profession due to various reasons. However, she restored her passion for writing all these years. She has already written several books like Nine By Nine, The Sacred Grove, The Last Frontier to name a few.

A graduate from St Stephen’s in New Delhi, Daman has no plans for joining politics.

Hurdles after father became PM    

Keen on contributing to the rural development in the country, Daman faced lot of difficulties after her father was catapulted to the post of Prime Minister. Owing to security reasons, she lost her freedom to move around. Although her father is at the helm of national affairs, she had preferred maintaining low profile, doing cooking and carrying out her daily routine.
