Jeetu, a shoe factory worker, allegedly exposed himself "indecently" when a girl from his neighbourhood was passing by, following which the girl complained about the incident to her family members, police said, adding, Jeetu was allegedly drunk when he misbehaved with the girl.
Upon being informed about the incident, an irate mob, including the brothers of the girl, beat Jeetu to death, police said.
An FIR has been registered against the two brothers of the girl, who own another shoe factory and are currently absconding, police said.
Both Jeetu's and the girl's families belong to Dalit community.
The girl's family resides in the Tamoli Para area of Shahganj here.
Meanwhile, Jeetu's family members tried to block the traffic by placing his body on the road and demanded action against the culprits.

Police today said a case has been registered against five accused, including a woman, in the death of a man who was beaten by a mob for his alleged indecent behaviour with a girl.
However, no arrest has been made so far. The accused are absconding and the relatives are being questioned to ascertain their whereabouts, Inspector Jaspal Singh said.
Meanwhile, residents of the village said the two videos that were filmed during the incident had become viral and clearly showed that Jeetu was beaten to death.
Neighbours said there were pressures on the bereaved family to reach a compromise from Rs One lakh to Five lakh.
Jeetu owned several houses and a shoe factory in the same area, police said.
