New Delhi: The increased Floor Area Ratio (FAR) of the Games Village flats has become a bone of contention for the Delhi Development Authority (DDA). The authority has decided to seal those flats which have flouted the FAR standards.

The dispute over the flats flouting the FAR norms has become a hurdle in getting the completion certificate for the Games Village. Until the completion certificate is received, neither DDA nor Emaar MGF, a builder company, can sell their flats or hand over the already sold flats to the owners.

Meanwhile, DDA has moved application to the Delhi Urban Art Commission (DUAC) for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the Games Village.

After demolition of 17 'illegal' flats of the Commonwealth Games Village complex, a few flats might be sealed, as their FAR is still beyond the permissible limit.

DDA plans to auction 100 flats while Emaar MGF has already sold off many of its flats at impressive rates of Rs 2 to 5 crore.
